Reinterpreting Andhra heritage through a contemporary dining experience

Reinterpreting Andhra heritage through a contemporary dining experience

Overview

Forefathers is an Andhra-rooted restaurant built around the idea of translating traditional ways of life into a more contemporary dining experience.

The brand draws from regional textiles such as Telia Rumal, Ikat, and Dhurries, using their patterns, textures, and visual rhythms as the foundation for a cohesive identity system. This thinking extends beyond branding into the spatial experience. The architecture and interiors combine vernacular materials like terracotta, brick, and textiles with modern construction techniques, creating a space that feels both rooted and relevant.

The challenge was to avoid surface-level cultural representation and instead build a brand that feels intentional, immersive, and scalable across touchpoints.

The result is a unified experience where identity, material, and space work together, positioning Forefathers as a culturally grounded yet contemporary dining destination.
